REVIEW
[bio'nd] Bioeconomy – the economy of the future?
In the kick-off event of the [bio'nd] project, a first approach was made to the concept of the bioeconomy, and question how the bioeconomy could be an economic form of the future. We discussed how the bioeconomy could be a possible answer to global challenges (such as climate change or the loss of biodiversity) and a newly emerging field of innovation for sustainable production and consumption patterns. Challenges (such as the availability of biomass and aspects of social and global justice) were also addressed, as their overcoming appears to be necessary in order to shape a future bioeconomy as a sustainable economic form. You can watch and read about the kick-off event through the videos, materials and links below.
